Air India has announced the commencement of a new route connecting New Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City, starting June 1st. The Indian national flag carrier revealed its plans on April 10, intending to operate direct flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The airline will deploy its two-class configured Airbus A320neo aircraft for the service, aiming to bolster its presence in Southeast Asia. This initiative offers a fresh flight option for the growing number of travelers between India and Vietnam, while also providing enhanced connectivity for Vietnamese passengers to access Air India's global route network.

Furthermore, the new route will facilitate seamless one-stop connections to Vietnam via Delhi for travelers from the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe, according to Air India.

Currently, Air India operates non-stop flights between India and four key destinations in Southeast Asia: Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket (Thailand), and Yangon (Myanmar). Meanwhile, Vietnamese carriers Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines also offer flights between New Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City.
