Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 Celebrates Vietnam’s Coffee Heritage
The five-day event promotes trade, sustainability, and global recognition
The ninth Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 opened in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, celebrating Vietnam’s rich coffee heritage and its growing role in the global market. Themed “Buon Ma Thuot – Destination of World Coffee,” the festival aims to enhance trade, promote sustainability, and boost the region’s status as a global coffee hub.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized Vietnam’s position as the world’s second-largest coffee exporter, surpassing five billion in export value in 2024. He called for innovation in sustainable coffee production to enhance quality and competitiveness, particularly in response to climate change and international trade regulations. Dak Lak, known as Vietnam’s coffee capital, contributes about 18 percent of the country’s total coffee export revenue.
The festival features cultural performances, exhibitions, and trade discussions focused on specialty coffee. Marking the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the event honors coffee farmers, businesses, and the unique culture of the Central Highlands.
