FIFA Imposes Registration Ban on Vietnamese Club Over Contract Dispute

FIFA has banned Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club in Vietnam from registering new players globally due to a financial dispute with Ghanaian player Martin Dzilah. Despite an agreement to pay him twenty thousand dollars, the payment was not completed, prompting FIFA to rule that the club owes twenty-nine thousand dollars, including interest. This ban will persist until the club fulfills its financial obligations.
FIFA has banned Vietnam's Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club from registering new players worldwide due to a financial dispute with Ghanaian striker Martin Dzilah.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) notified the club of the ban shortly after FIFA's decision.

This ban, effective both nationally and internationally, will remain until the club resolves its financial obligations to Dzilah.

The conflict began when Dzilah and the club terminated their contract mutually in February 2023, agreeing to a compensation of twenty thousand dollars, which Dzilah never received.

Consequently, FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled on August 30 that Hoang Anh Gia Lai owes Dzilah twenty-nine thousand dollars, including interest, to be paid within 45 days.

After missing the October 14 payment deadline, the club sought assistance from local police to investigate the situation.
