The three-day event, held under the theme "From Heritage to Horizon," brought together marathon industry leaders to exchange ideas and innovations. AIMS president Paco Borao highlighted the congress’s mission to promote marathons worldwide while fostering community connections. Deputy Director of the Sports Authority of Việt Nam, Lê Thị Hoàng Yến, emphasized the synergy between marathons and tourism, showing how these events promote local destinations and sustainable tourism.

Key presentations at the congress included Việt Nam's approach to blending cultural heritage with marathon running. Nguyễn Mẫn from the DHA Board of Management showcased how the country integrates its rich traditions and landmarks into marathon events, creating unique experiences for runners. Marko Vasic, Running Unit Director at European Athletics, outlined trends for the future of running, including digitalisation and event diversification. Technological advancements also featured prominently, with Jorge Maravilla of Neurun discussing AI’s role in enhancing the marathon experience, from training plans to race-day analytics.

The congress concluded with participants heading to Hạ Long City to experience the Hạ Long Bay Heritage Marathon, highlighting the region's natural beauty and cultural significance. The event not only focused on marathons as a sport but also on their economic and cultural impact, making it a key platform for future developments in the marathon landscape.
