Ho Chi Minh City recorded its coldest morning in four years on Monday, with temperatures dipping to 19 degrees Celsius due to intensified cold air from the north. Some southern regions saw even lower temperatures, with Dong Nai dropping to 16 degrees and Da Lat hitting 11 degrees, the lowest in the region.

Locals bundled up in thick jackets and gloves to combat the unusual chill. Children were seen wearing warm coats and hats on their way to school. Le Dinh Quyet of the Southern Regional Hydrometeorology Station noted that outdoor temperatures likely felt 2 to 4 degrees colder.

This rare cold snap is expected to linger for a few more days before temperatures gradually rise across the southern region.
