Lamborghini Bids Farewell to Its Best-Selling Sports Car: The Huracán

Lamborghini is bidding farewell to its best-selling sports car, the Huracán, the last of its models to feature a pure gasoline engine without electric assistance. This final version, known as the STJ, which stands for Super Trofeo Jota, marks the end of an era for Lamborghini's pure petrol engines.
The Huracán has been developed in collaboration with the Audi R8, becoming the most sold model in Lamborghini's history from its headquarters in Sant'Agata with about 25,000 units produced since its debut a decade ago. This is around 11,000 units more than its predecessor, the Gallardo, achieved

The STJ maintains the same atmospheric V10 engine as the current top version, the STO, producing 640 horsepower. It's paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. While exact performance metrics have not been released, they are expected to mirror the STO's capabilities—accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h.

The most significant change from the STO is an even larger rear wing with a 3-degree greater angle of attack, improving downforce by 10%. The front hood, made of carbon and integrating air intakes and vents, remains unchanged.

Further additions include shock absorbers with manual adjustment for four damping and rebound settings, enhancing more precise steering. The ceramic brakes (390 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear) are identical to those on the STO, but the connection to the asphalt is managed by specially developed Bridgestone Potenza tires, mounted on 20-inch wheels with a central locking mechanism typical for race cars.

According to Lamborghini, the STJ is faster than the STO by one second per lap around the Nardò Testing Track, showcasing its improved capabilities.
