Vietnam has achieved a notable scientific milestone, with nine of its researchers ranking among the top 10,000 most cited scientists globally, and 60 among the top 100,000, according to a list compiled by Stanford University researchers and released by academic publishing company Elsevier. The rankings are based on citations from Scopus, a leading international scientific database.

Among the top 10,000 are Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, marking their inclusion for six consecutive years. The list also features prominent researchers from universities across the country, including Hanoi Medical University and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam’s presence in the global academic rankings is further solidified with 60 scientists named in the top 100,000, a recognition of their impactful contributions to fields like engineering and information technology.
