At the seventh Vietnam-US Business Summit held in Hà Nội, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính called on the United States to recognize Vietnam’s market economy status, emphasizing the growing importance of bilateral economic cooperation. Organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the US Chamber of Commerce, the summit attracted high-level officials, business leaders, and global stakeholders.

In his remarks, PM Chính stressed the principles of mutual understanding, shared risks, and win-win partnerships as the basis for expanding cooperation. He urged for the prompt removal of outdated trade restrictions, particularly those hindering high-tech exports. He also outlined Vietnam’s strategic breakthroughs, focusing on institutional reforms, infrastructure development, and human capital enhancement, as part of efforts to bolster the country’s competitiveness and economic growth.

PM Chính highlighted the need for increased investment in key sectors, including the digital economy, renewable energy, and infrastructure, while urging US enterprises to take a more active role in supporting Vietnam’s transformation. He noted that Vietnam has become a key player in global supply chains, with US companies increasingly investing in transformative projects, reinforcing the robust partnership between the two countries.
