Vietnam Eyes Entry into $10 Trillion Global Halal Market

Experts highlight Vietnam's potential to become a key player in the Halal industry
Vietnam is emerging as a critical link in the global Halal supply chain and has the potential to become a key player in the Halal market, which is projected to reach $10 trillion by 2030. This was discussed at the International Halal Conference held in Hanoi on Tuesday, organized by Vietnam's Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Science and Technology, and Agriculture and Rural Development. The event marked the first national-level focus on the Halal industry in the country.

The conference was attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and over 50 delegations from international organizations. Domestic and international delegates discussed Vietnam's potential and strategic positioning to enter the global Halal market. Dr. Yousif S. AlHarbi, vice-president of the Saudi Halal Center, highlighted Vietnam as a crucial link in the global Halal supply chain. He noted that Vietnam could become a Halal production and distribution center, with the global market expected to reach $7.7 trillion in 2025 and $10 trillion by 2030.

Halal India chairman Mohamed Jinna echoed these sentiments, stating that Vietnam is capitalizing on a golden opportunity to enter and grow in the Halal market. He emphasized that participating in this market is a strategic move for Vietnam, immersing the country deeper in Halal international economies. Prime Minister Chinh expressed Vietnam's goal of becoming an essential destination on the global Halal map and a significant link in the supply chain of Halal products and services.
