Ben Tre Province, located in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, is set to create a 50,000-hectare polder spanning three districts and a 65-kilometer coastal area to stimulate economic growth. The polder will cover Ba Tri, Binh Dai, and Thanh Phu districts as part of the province’s master plan for 2021-2030, with a long-term vision extending to 2050.

The new eastern coastal zone, including the polder, is designed to become a major economic hub, focusing on fisheries, energy, transportation, and tourism. This development will include the construction of a large seaport to support high-capacity vessels, enhancing Ben Tre’s position in logistics and commerce.

Preparations are already underway with the construction of a 53-kilometer coastal road and the upcoming Ba Lai 8 Bridge. Investment conferences will be held next month to attract further funding for this ambitious project, aimed at transforming the province's economy, which has been growing at a steady 6-7% annually.
