Vietnam’s Foreign Investment Reaches Over $24.78 Billion by September 2024

Growth driven by large-scale projects in semiconductors, energy, and high-value products
Foreign investment into Vietnam reached more than $24.78 billion by the end of September 2024, marking an 11.6 percent year-on-year increase, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Significant investments focused on sectors such as semiconductors, energy, and electronic components, with nearly $4.26 billion invested in September alone – the highest monthly figure this year.

Manufacturing and processing led the way with nearly $15.64 billion, accounting for 63.1 percent of total registered capital. Real estate followed with $4.38 billion, nearly double last year’s figure. Singapore remained the top investor, contributing $7.35 billion, with China and South Korea also ranking high.

Vietnam's foreign-funded sector recorded strong export growth, generating over $217.4 billion in export revenue in the first nine months, contributing to a trade surplus of nearly $38 billion, significantly aiding the country's economy.
