Vietnam has set a new milestone with nine universities featured in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, the highest number ever recorded. Notably, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City debuted in the prestigious 501-600 range, making it the top-ranked Vietnamese institution. Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City Open University also made their first appearances, ranking in the 801-1000 and 1201-1500 groups, respectively.

Other highly ranked universities include Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University in the 601-800 range. The rankings, which evaluated 2,092 institutions globally, emphasize research quality, helping Duy Tan and Ton Duc Thang achieve consistent success due to their strong focus on scientific research.

Globally, the University of Oxford maintained the top position for the ninth consecutive year, followed by MIT and other leading institutions from the U.S. and U.K.
