The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has announced plans to pioneer 6G research, aiming to position Vietnam among the early adopters of this next-generation technology. The strategy, recently approved by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, outlines VNPT's ambitions to become a key player in digital infrastructure and services by 2030, with a vision toward 2035.
VNPT’s strategic goals include developing platforms that utilize core digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain, while also expanding 5G infrastructure. By 2025, the group intends to fully transition from a traditional telecom provider into a tech-driven company, becoming a major force in Vietnam’s digital transformation and establishing itself in regional markets by 2030.
The strategy also highlights VNPT's commitment to creating a national digital ecosystem, focusing on services across socio-economic sectors and enhancing national defense and security.
