Cambodia Reaffirms Commitment to Border Demarcation with Vietnam

National Assembly President Khun Sudary Stresses Importance of Border Issue
National Assembly President Khun Sudary emphasized the significance of resolving the border demarcation with Vietnam during a meeting with Vietnam’s head of state, Mr. To Lam. Held at the Cambodian Parliament, the meeting underscored Cambodia's commitment to completing the demarcation process and ensuring the welfare of Vietnamese citizens residing in Cambodia.

Deputy Spokesman of the National Assembly, Keo Piseth, reported that Mr. To Lam urged Cambodia to prioritize the well-being of the Vietnamese community and expedite the border demarcation efforts. President Sudary noted the establishment of the Secretariat of Border Affairs by Cambodia's new government to address border uncertainties. She highlighted the goal of transforming border areas into zones of peace and stability.

Currently, approximately 84% of the Cambodia-Vietnam border has been demarcated, with 16% remaining to be finalized through continued cooperation.
