Hanoi Launches 7th Global Vietnam Startup Challenge to Foster Youth Innovation

The 2024 competition aims to support Vietnamese startups and drive innovation under Hanoi’s broader youth movement.
Hanoi officially launched the 7th Global Vietnam Startup Challenge 2024 on August 29, attended by nearly 900 youth union members and representatives from government agencies and businesses. Hosted by the Hanoi Youth Union, the competition is part of the city’s efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship under Program No. 07 of the Hanoi Party Committee, focusing on science and technology development through 2025.

Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center, emphasized the importance of the event in equipping young entrepreneurs with global skills. Meanwhile, Tran Quang Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, highlighted the competition as a gateway to real support for startups. The event also featured panel discussions on open innovation, with experts sharing insights on how collaboration and education can fuel the growth of Vietnam’s startup ecosystem.
