Hội An Celebrates 25 Years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Musical performances and heritage exhibitions honor the town’s cultural legacy.
Hội An’s Old Quarter is hosting a week of festivities to commemorate 25 years since its recognition as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. From December 4, musical events like the Music Exchange Programme and Street Melody will light up iconic locations, including the Japanese Bridge and Trần Phú Street.

A new indigenous product museum at 57 Trần Phú Street will also debut, celebrating the town’s cultural heritage. Visitors can enjoy a folk singing contest of Bài Chòi, a UNESCO-listed intangible heritage, at Bà Mụ Pagoda from December 4 to 6.

Adding to its accolades, Hội An recently joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, and Trà Quế vegetable village was named one of the Best Tourism Villages 2024, affirming its status as a cultural and tourism treasure.
