Vietnam to Launch Nearly 3,000 Motorbike Emissions Testing Facilities

New regulations aim to reduce pollution and streamline compliance nationwide.
Vietnam plans to establish almost 3,000 emissions testing facilities for motorbikes and scooters as mandatory testing regulations are set to take effect. Vietnam Register, under the Ministry of Transport, aims to prevent bottlenecks by utilizing existing maintenance centers and private service centers operated by manufacturers.

Testing standards will roll out in phases: motorbikes under five years old will be exempt, while vehicles between five and twelve years old will require biannual testing. Older vehicles will need annual testing. The roadmap and fee structures are under review and will soon be submitted to the prime minister for approval.
