Vietnam’s electric and hybrid vehicle market is set to expand significantly, with sales projected to grow by 25 to 30 percent this year. In 2024, green vehicle sales hit 97,000 units, accounting for over 22 percent of all new passenger car sales, according to Oto.com.vn.

Leading the electric car segment is VinFast with 87,000 units sold, while Toyota dominates the hybrid market with 5,350 units. The demand for electric vehicles is rising with new models like VinFast’s VF3 and VF5, along with popular Chinese brands entering the market.

The used car market is also booming, with listings for second-hand green vehicles more than tripling from 2,227 in 2023 to 7,581 in 2024. Popular models include VinFast’s VF8 and VF e34, and Toyota’s Corolla Cross Hybrid.
