Vietnam's National Assembly to Elect New State President

New president expected to be elected during the assembly's eighth session
Vietnam's National Assembly is set to elect a new state president on Monday, the first day of its eighth session. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Head of the Committee for Deputy Affairs, confirmed that the Communist Party Central Committee had introduced a candidate for the position. In addition to electing the new president, the assembly will review 15 laws, comment on 13 draft laws, and discuss key economic and infrastructure projects.

The session, lasting 29.5 days, will also focus on personnel matters and socio-economic issues, including the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Khac Dinh, emphasized that while some aspects of the program are tentative, significant changes are not expected.

By the end of November, the assembly will have debated 42 important topics, including legislative work and key national projects, shaping Vietnam's future development.
