Vietnam Advances Business Sustainability with International Support
4,000 Businesses Receive Assistance for Green and Inclusive Models
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has announced that 4,000 domestic businesses have received technical assistance from international organizations to adopt sustainable business models. Collaborations with partners such as the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), USAID, and UNDP have facilitated the adoption of green, circular, and inclusive business practices.
Key initiatives include the development of tools to assess readiness for circular economy principles, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, and Inclusive Business (IB) models. Additionally, over 100 impact consultants have been trained, and the Vietnam ESG Initiative has attracted nearly 400 businesses since its launch in 2023.
Support efforts have extended to digital transformation, benefiting nearly 14,200 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through training and consulting services. The SME Development Fund (SMEDF) has also reduced lending rates and expanded partnerships with commercial banks, improving access to capital and resources for sustainable growth.
