Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, along with National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh, visited the South Korean Embassy in Hanoi on December thirty-first to offer condolences for the victims of the Jeju Air plane crash.

In their messages, they expressed deep sympathies to the South Korean government, parliament, and people, particularly the grieving families. They conveyed confidence in South Korea’s resilience to overcome this tragedy and support affected families in recovering from their loss.

On behalf of the South Korean government, Ambassador Choi Youngsam expressed gratitude for Vietnam's heartfelt condolences, acknowledging the support as a source of strength during this difficult time. Earlier, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also sent messages of sympathy to their South Korean counterparts.

The crash on December twenty-ninth claimed one hundred seventy-nine lives, with only two survivors remaining in critical condition. South Korea has declared a seven-day national mourning period to honor the victims.
