Hanoi kicked off 2025 with an impressive surge in tourism, welcoming about 160,000 visitors on January 1, marking a 17 percent increase from last year. This included 28,400 foreign tourists, up 67 percent, and 132,000 domestic holidaymakers, up 10 percent year-on-year.

The city's tourism sector recorded nearly 594 billion VND (23.3 million USD) in revenue, reflecting a significant 26 percent growth. High-end hotels reported an average occupancy rate of 80 percent, driven by vibrant celebrations and festive events across the capital.

Highlights included the Herbalife Countdown Party 2025 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, the Trust The Moment concert at Revolution Square, and The Glamorous Countdown 2025 at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2. Meanwhile, pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake remained lively with traditional art performances. Popular sites like the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Centre and Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Son Tay also drew large crowds.

Beyond the city center, attractions such as the Me Linh Flower Festival, Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, and Tich Giang Agricultural Market offered visitors diverse experiences, contributing to Hanoi's reputation as a top New Year destination.
