Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on Vietnam’s national football team to aim for the Asian championship and a spot in the FIFA World Cup. Speaking at a meeting with the team and head coach Kim Sang Sik after their ASEAN Cup victory, he praised their unbeaten run, highlighted by Nguyen Hai Long’s decisive goal in the final against Thailand.

The team’s flawless performance—winning all seven matches and scoring 21 goals—was marked by standout players like striker Nguyen Xuan Son, who earned both the top scorer and most valuable player awards, and Dinh Trieu, named best goalkeeper. Prime Minister Chinh presented the team with the First-Class Labor Order and urged them to strive for international success.

The team also received over six billion Vietnamese dong in rewards from businesses, recognizing their unity, dedication, and the passionate support of fans.
