Long An Sets Ambitious Goals for 2030 and 2050 Economic Growth
The province aims to become a dynamic economic hub by 2030, with a long-term vision to lead industrial development in the Mekong Delta by 2050.
Long An province has unveiled its Master Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision extending to 2050. The goal is to transform Long An into a dynamic, efficient, and sustainable economic center in southern Vietnam by 2030. By 2050, the province aspires to be a leading industrial force in the country and a key growth driver in the Mekong Delta region.
Strategically located as a gateway between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, Long An is organizing its socio-economic activities under a development model of "one center, two economic corridors, three socio-economic zones, and six development axes." Tan An city, serving as the political and administrative hub, is positioned as a satellite city to Ho Chi Minh City and aims to become a commercial and high-tech industrial hub in the region. Major infrastructure projects are underway, including the development of ring roads, to create a modern urban landscape and attract further investment.
The province is also advancing two key economic corridors, one linking Ho Chi Minh City via Ring Roads 3 and 4, and the other connecting Long An with Tien Giang province through National Highway 50B. Long An’s focus on infrastructure development and improving interregional connectivity is expected to significantly boost its socio-economic growth, positioning it as a leading economic player in the Mekong Delta by 2030.
