Vietcombank has successfully issued two trillion Vietnamese dong in green bonds, a first for Vietnam, to finance eco-friendly projects like renewable energy, sustainable transport, and waste management. This initiative highlights Vietcombank’s role in advancing sustainable finance while efficiently raising capital.

The bonds were issued without requiring collateral or payment guarantees and adhere to the Green Bond Principles set by the International Capital Market Association. With support from the Global Green Growth Institute, the framework received a Medium Green rating from S&P Global, reflecting its transparency and strong governance.

As part of its strategy for 2025 and vision for 2030, Vietcombank is focused on developing green financial instruments and directing credit flows toward low-carbon businesses and technologies. This move reinforces its commitment to socio-economic development and environmental protection.
